The Standard for Holiness

Written By Eddie Duke

Isaiah 6:3 says this about how the Seraphim described God:

“They were calling out to each other, ‘Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies!  The whole earth is filled with His glory!”

The word ‘Holy’ in this passage is repeated three times.  In the Hebrew language when a word is repeated in this order it indicates an increase in the significance of meaning.

God doesn’t set the standard for holiness; God IS the standard for holiness.

Chuck Swindoll once said, “You will never say yes to the LORD until you have seen Him.”

When we really see God, we will be overwhelmed with our need of Him.  When I look at my daily activities, it becomes pretty clear to me how much I see of God or not in the things I say and do.
