The third lesson in Thanksgiving is that Thanksgiving is essential to walking with God.
Colossians 2:6-7 reads
“So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in him, being rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude.”
If you were to explain to a person how to walk that didn’t know how, what would you say?
They are walking for the first time, what would you say? Well, you would probably say to stand up first. Next, you would say something to the effect that you are going to need to put one foot in front of the other, and with every step you take, you are going to balance between your left and right foot.
ROOTED, BUILT UP IN HIM, established in the faith, OVERFLOWING with gratitude. Our walk with Christ is not any different. It is steps.
First of all, we need to STAND on the Word of God and we need to walk in steps of faith, balancing as we go.
How do you keep it all balanced? You keep it balanced by always being thankful.
