This week in our ZOOM Bible study, I have been studying Isaiah 53.
Isaiah 53 is a tremendous passage of what Jesus did for us.
I have been fascinated while reading it. It is a beautiful passage of the depth of love that Jesus has for people.
I was drawn in particular to Isaiah 53:6. It reads:
“We all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way; and the Lord has punished him for the iniquity of us all.”
This verse has the bookends of the words “We all” and “us all”. WE ALL turned from God, like sheep in a pasture following their own path to wherever the grass leads them, not caring about what the Shepherd thinks or does. Yet, Jesus died for US ALL.
It doesn’t matter if we are a Jew or an Atheist, Catholic or Protestant, Baptist or Presbyterian, Religious or None. It doesn’t matter who we are or what we have done. It’s not a cultural thing. It’s not a religious thing. It’s not a denomination thing. It’s a Christ thing. WE ALL have sinned and turned from Him and yet, Jesus Christ leaned toward us, dying for the sin of US ALL.
Wow! Read Isaiah 53 today. I would love to hear your comments.
